I woke-up anxious last Saturday.  Ready to shoot, ready to pick up iced coffee and drive to Santa Barbara for a wedding. I knew this wedding was going to be amazing, I could hardly wait! Most days when I shoot weddings I always feel a little nervous, the unknown of how the day will turn out is always a little scary… in a good way.  I was anxious because one, I care for this couple and I really hoped their day would be perfect (can’t wait to tell you about this love story), two, I was shooting with a new photographer I had never met and three, this wedding was at the Four Seasons Santa Barbara. I have never shot at a place like this.  Sure, I have stayed at a Four Seasons before and have been to weddings at a place like this as a guest, BUT HOW DID I GET HERE?!

I drove along the coast, with my iced coffee in hand and music blasting, envisioning poses in my head. The drive actually gave me time to reflect on this photography journey.   Here I was on my way to Santa Barbara to shoot a wedding, how did I get here?! Two and a half years ago I didn’t even want to tell a SINGLE person I wanted to do photography soooo bad!  I would have never seen this happening when I started this journey… I wished for it, but I felt like it was YEARS and YEARS away.  Anything in this life is possible, I guess. I have a LONG way to go… a very long way to go in this business but learning photography is forever in my eyes. I just want to stop for a moment and look at where I have been and where I am going. There are a lot of exciting new things I will share soon!! Can’t wait!! LIFE is changing… I LOVE CHANGE! As scary as it can be, it is the BEST thing in the world.
